Greg Anderson was born and raised in Harford County.
He grew up in Abingdon and Bel Air — attending Churchville Presbyterian, scouting on post, fishing, crabbing, and exploring the Chesapeake. He's a graduate of Bel Air High School and lives today in that same house, right here in the district.

Greg's family has farmed in America since the 1840s. His father was the first to leave the farm — enlisting in the Army, seeing action in the Korean War, then using the G.I. Bill to earn a degree from Georgia Tech and build a career in government service at Edgewood Arsenal (today Aberdeen Proving Ground). His mother, a Southern Belle from Alabama, left her secretary job to raise Greg, then returned to her own career in federal service at the DoD. Greg grew up in the shadow of APG — the son of federal workers, the grandson of farmers, rooted in the working communities of Harford County.

Greg was the first generation in his family who didn't grow up farming. His mother made sure he got an education anyway. He studied music at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, and electrical engineering at West Virginia University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
He spent his summers working at Aberdeen Proving Ground, building systems to test mortar firing accuracy. And he heard those booms up close.
After college he worked for a decade at Hewlett-Packard developing software for chemistry and cardiology labs. Then the World Wide Web arrived, and Greg started his own software company. He pioneered web systems that helped companies like Cisco Systems offer complex online ordering at scale. That was all brand new in the ’90s.
IBM eventually acquired his technology.
Today Greg works with entrepreneurs, applying that same technical expertise to help launch new ventures.
He's also a Harford County Election Judge — one of the people who checks you in to vote.
For fun, Greg plays piano and viola and has conducted orchestras and operas, working with students and community groups. He was once in a movie, in a tiny role as a police officer in the Bengali film Aparajita Tumi. He's a voracious learner — a serious student of history, government, and the Bible, who still reads science for fun.

Greg Anderson is running for one reason.
District 35A has no voice in Annapolis. Our representatives can't chair a committee, can't move a bill, and can't block any legislation they oppose. Every session, they show up, vote no, and go home.
